Menstrual Hygiene Training & Reusable Pad Making
– On going at 6 Primary Schools in Kirembe , Kasese District
Objective:
To equip pupils with knowledge on menstrual hygiene management and practical skills to make affordable, reusable sanitary pads, reducing absenteeism and improving dignity for girls in our community.
Key Activities:
1. Menstrual Hygiene Education
- Age-appropriate sessions for upper primary girls and boys on puberty, hygiene, and breaking stigma
- Involve female teachers and a local health worker as facilitators
2. Reusable Pad Making Training
- Hands-on workshops using locally available materials: cotton cloth, towel, waterproof lining
- Each pupil learns to cut, stitch, and care for reusable pads that last 1-2 years
- Pattern and safety standards guided by Ministry of Health guidelines
3. Community Impact
- Reduces monthly cost of menstrual products for families in Kasese
- Keeps girls in school during menstruation, improving attendance and performance
- Trained pupils become peer educators for siblings and out-of-school girls

- Facilitator allowances and training manuals
- WASH facilities: private changing space, water, and soap at school

Recieving a healthy start
TIFOSE is giving vegetable seedling to farmers in Kirembe to boost their household nutrition and incomes. Farmers are receiving these healthy starts like egg plants, african egg plants and tomatoes ready for transplanting into their kitchen gardens and small plots. This support helps diversify diets, improve food security, and strengthen local livelihoods.

Hanne Nursery and Primary School Embarks on Kitchen Gardening with Globalrise support through TIFOSE

Charcoal briquettes is the kind of charcoal fuel that is produced by mixing cow dang, saw-dust and clay as raw matrials. This innovatoon is currently seen the best local attempt to metigate the high rate of defforestation where cutting of trees for wood charcoal is at the highest rate in uganda. When people adopt using this innovation, the rate of deforestation will be less than it is currently standing at 14% over the period between 2015 to 2023.
Tifose has intriduced this training to the community members of kirembe and the training kick-off happened on tuesday 1st of july,2025 with a women-based savings group of RUFI-uganda in kirembe.

TIFOSE is mainly concerned with implimenting non-profitable social work in the field of youth, women, education, health, environment and economic development.
We focus on providing opportunoties and involvement of young generation , community enhancement and development and prosperity.
Basically Tifose functions in research and development of social issues. Youth proffessionalism and involvement in agriculture, natural resource conservation and climate change, women empowerment, social and economic advancement, primary health and education.
We promote and and secure vulnerable groups and provide opportunity to those people who are looking for proffessionalism.
We also make them initiative and capable with result-oriented research and programme.
